Since the end of January this year, Southern China has been hit by a lengthy cold and rain, and the snow storm. It is a natural disaster unprecedented over the past 50 years, which gave serious impact on the forestry industry in the region and people’s daily life in about 19 provinces in the South. It is believed that this disaster would cause some uncertainties on the supply of gum turpentine in this year. Subject to forthcoming demands from the domestic market and overseas, and the effect of government policy, the price of gum turpentine might face a slight upward trend in the year. We will monitor closely its movement and prepare for an active response to the market accordingly.
